Saw Jack Reacher Monday night at a preview screening. Heres some of my thoughts. There are currently no spoilers.First off, I would say that I agree with the general critical reception: 4/5 stars. For me it means that it is a solid film that gives the high end of its kind. Jack Reacher not trying to be anything revolutionary, it's the kind of public action thriller not see a while.This is not Mission: Impossible or even James Bond. Writer / director Christopher McQuarrie draws inspiration from action films of the late 60s/early 70s as Dirty Harry (which was confirmed name in some comments already ;) BULLITT (the chase), and must A different Don Siegel film Charley Varrick. The tension here is not just over the top stunts and big explosions. As of right action movies referenced excite you to see a highly defined outsmart, outfight and cheat the poor guys.Which protagonist brings me to the character Jack Reacher and cast of Tom Cruise. In the series of novels by Lee Child movie is based on is Jack Reacher, an ex-MP detective.
