Description:
A young family moves into a historic home in Georgia, only to learn that these are not the only inhabitants of the house. Soon find themselves in the presence of mystery rises from the underworld and threatened to cut all in its path.
Review:
For a standalone sequel to The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia would have been much worse. The film has some freaky visual, some old fears and decent enough acting and an appropriate environment to fit the mold. I think the title should only Ghosts of Georgia, because the film does not cover the first film and it's not even based in Connecticut, it seems clear that this decision is a cash grab. The new story will be targeted based on actual events Wyrick family and even have made for TV. Reenactment film called A Haunting in Georgia, I havent seen, but now I'm interested. The back story on why this happens psychic disturbance is considered a non hard-hitting road and was not effective. The story / script only has a few gaps and flaws that the movie stops and it is not true or believable.The performances are decent but not great. Abigail Spencer plays Lisa Wyrick, a mother and wife struggling with a pass on the gift to see and communicate with the dead, his sister and daughter also seems to have them assume gift. Abigail is the highlight of this lackluster horror films and bears the most weight, but the script limit its performance. Chad Michael Murray to play Andy Wyrick father and provides a relatively inexpensive performance and not much of a share. Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica fame playing Lisa's sister, Joyce Wyrick, who also has the gift of seeing the dead. Katee gives a vibrant performance, but if chads character there was not much in his role, although he has one of the most memorable moments in film, thread needles involved. Out of his mouth Emily Alyn Lind plays the young daughter Heidi Wyrick's Lisa Wyrick, which begins to show signs of the dead show contact. He loves surprising her as she plays one of the main roles in the film. All in all the show is OK, but their script lacked depth and charisma.Director, Tom Elkins as the editor of this movie and the first, as well as the editor of several other horror films, especially the superior sequel to White Noise, White Noise 2: The Light. Tom seem to have gifted editor, but as a first time driver what he do know what horror movie looks like it should be on ABC Family. It just is not a good direction for this film, based should have been powerful. Writer David Coggeshall was written just for television shows such as the short-lived series Watch Over Me. The elements of a good ghost story is because the true story aspect of the film, but David Coggeshall not put it to good use and create something uninspired and vague.Overall, forget the beginning of the title of the film and Just go with the Ghosts of Georgia because it is not a sequel to The Haunting in Connecticut, is a different story. It was neat credits at the end of a picture of the actual family film is based on seeing. Their true story is probably much more interesting and scary than the actual movie is shown. The film has little moments of creepiness and intrigue with grotesque imagery, but the pace was slow, it was pretty scared for the most part, do not benefit from the back-story and was almost a common affair. An unnecessary and pointless sequel is not really a sequel.
